Keith Merrow - Awaken the Stone King

This needed it's own thread. I just bought Keith's new album off of his website, and it absolutely KICKS ASS. Seriously, go here, and buy it. Now. It's awesome.

You can tell the dude has a huge Loomis influence, but honestly I like this a LOT more than Jeff's solo album because it's more based on bad fucking ass riffing and song structure than straight up shredding.

Great stuff. Go forth, and pick it up.

Yeah, this album is fucking monstrous. Keith's always put out great stuff but, dude, this totally eclipsed everything else. Just... incredible.

The first video wasnt anything special IMO. Kinda just generic riffing.
The 2nd video however had the KICK ASS in it that you guys are talking about.

The production sounds good, but its a little to djenty style producing for me.

But all in all good stuff

IIRC, he tunes to something weird, but I can't remember what it is.

He makes it look damn easy though
Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

I think its drop Ab or Bb standard IIRC.

His 8 string tuning was F standard so it was something similar for 7 strings.
