I don't know if this is the right section, so any MOD feel free to move it where it should be...
I was trying to record a cover of "Low" by testament, and I've found a decent
midi drum track , so I was checking if everything was right and I've
imported the original track into my DAW to play along with the midi drum track
( played by EZDrummer ) and there is no way to make them match, if the first two measures go unison, then in the third they start losing their syncronism,
the tempo seems to be oscillating between 160 and 170 BPM measure by measure. That is too random to be something planned, so I'm just wondering
if they recorded drums without metronome.
The drummer was John Tempesta on that album.
Is that a possible thing?
You know, I notice that on a lot of old Testament albums, low and prior. It's possible they were doing it off the cuff, or maybe certain parts were programmed to be a tad faster/slower.
Also, Low kicks major ass, it's my favorite Testament album
