    Bill Connors is a very lyrical player who did some good work in RTF, even though he was basically just a kid at the time. Quite a bit different style than Al DiMeola. Chick Corea has talked about how difficult it was in the early '70s to find good jazz-rock guitarists who didn't already have gigs. He pretty much poached Connors and Al DiMeola right out of Berklee.

    Connors went on to make some good albums in the '80s with a smoother, more Holdsworth-like style. I think he's doing more straightforward jazz now.
