Some of you may know that our drummer is crazy.
If you didn't know, well, now you do.
Apparently he's now writing a column on extreme metal drumming for one of Japan's bigger drumming magazines. Seems his teacher (who is pretty famous in the drumming world) put in a word about him to the magazine's editor and they asked him to write a column.
He also gave our demo away to several of the people working at the magazine. Our guitarist said he was at a guitar store in Ochanomizu (the main place to buy guitars in Tokyo) and our demo was playing throughout the store. Not sure exactly how they got it, but our guitarist said that some of the people working at guitar stores in the area had asked him for our demo, so that probably has something to do with it.
Of course, the negative side to having a crazy drummer is that he always makes drum parts that are purposefully hard to follow. We were working on a new song on Sunday. Most of the song is in either 7/4 or 7/8, but there is this really fast part (220bpm) in 4/4 that he turned into a 7/4 polyrhythm which makes it quite a bit harder to follow.
Anyway, congrats to Koju for his drum magazine column. Thought I'd like to share with you guys.
