My band is moving our practice pad into our house, and i need some way to keep the sound in the room as much as possible without making my wife and dog go as deaf as we are. Cheap is a plus, of course.
The room is a rectangle. 8 foot ceilings, sheetrock walls and ceilings, hardwood floors, one door out to a carport, one door that leads to the rest of the house. I'd imagine total soundproofing is impossible without major renovation (like building a second wall), but what all can i do to keep the noise in the rest of the house down to a tolerable level? Thanks!
What sort of budget do you have, and what sort of modifications are you willing to make to your house?
In general, there are no cheap ways to "soundproof".
