I'm recording solos for a band/project and one of tracks is a cover of Carcass's Death Certificate. I'd never really heard band, but I'm liking what I've heard a lot. I just learned the solos two nights ago and tracked them this afternoon.

One of the phrases in the Bill Steer solo I couldn't quite nail (the fastest part), so I changed it up a bit. I also tweaked two parts in Michael Amott's solo. Without a wah, and at this tempo*, I couldn't get away with what he does on the original. Other than that, I tried to stick to the original. They're both great solos.
*The band have slowed the track down from 200 to 175bpm. They said they think the recorded track is too fast, and that Carcass always slow it down when they play live. Personally I prefer the faster tempo, but I'm always happy to slow solos down if it makes them easier
