    Alcest Appreciation Station

Since they just released a new track yesterday, I've been listening to these guys a bunch. Who else digs em?

My friend turned me on to Escailles de Lune a few months ago and I don't think I listened to anything else for about a month. Saw them live with Enslaved (Ghost was supposed to play too but they had visa troubles ) and they completely blew me away. I like atmospheric stuff but usually I have a tough time sitting through it live--lots of shifting from foot to foot, wondering when the song's gonna end so I can grab another beer, checking out what kind of gear the guitarist is rocking--but these guys brought it and when they were done I wanted to hear more.

They're one of the few bands I've heard that I can truly lose myself in. I'm not listening to how cool that guitar riff is or how sick that drum fill was, I'm just sitting back and taking in the awesome atmosphere they create

Seriously, if you haven't heard them before, and you dig atmospheric, shoe gaze-y post rock-ish stuff with a tinge of black metal, you need to check this band out.

    Here's the new track:

and here's my personal favorite Alcest song, off Ecailles De Lune.

Yep, huge fan. They played with Velnias and Clad In Darkness when I saw them last April. Weird how the other guitarist sings most of the time. I know Neige does everything in the studio(except with Ecailles drums). Glad someone else enjoys them

A track off the album has been released. I'm glad the black metal elements are back, didn't enjoy Shelter as much as I did Écailles.. and Les Voyages.. Pretty excited for the new full-length now.
