Seventh Void is a doom metal band composed of Type O Negative members Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly; Matt Brown of Uranium 235 and Supermassiv; and Hank Hell of Inhuman. Originally conceived in 2003 by Kenny and Johnny, the band's personnel was not solidified until 2005 and songwriting began in earnest. The band's name is lifted from a line in Dante's Inferno. Their debut album, Heaven Is Gone, was released in April 2009 in North America on Vinnie Paul's record label, Big Vin Records, and in November 2010 in Europe and the UK on Napalm Records.
    • Kenny Hickey - Lead vocals, lead guitar
    • Matt Brown - Rhythm guitar, production, engineering
    • Hank Hell - Bass guitar
    • Johnny Kelly - Drums

    Great band.

I've always liked Kenny's playing and tone.
"The greatest power one may possess -- in any situation -- is simply not to care what happens.

"In fact, it's the only power, all others being a semblance and mockery of it. But you must also not care about possessing the power itself. So fuck it."

My friend (long-time Type-O fan) went to see these in London a few months back, said it was amazing. Fuck yeah

Not bad. I really get an older Soundgarden vibe from it.

Doesn't sound much like doom to me, but it DOES sound good. I'd listen to this

Seventh Void is the shit! I tried to get into A Pale Horse Named Death, which is Johnny Kelly and Sal Abruscato and is a bit more Type-Oish but I don't know what it is, I just can't get into them as much as I can Seventh Void.

If they had Kenny Hickey singing for them I think i'd like it a bit more. I just don't like Sal's voice. one can make a bass sound like Pete did. That was the heart of Type O's sound, more so than the guitars, a lot of people don't realize that but it is true. Without that signature bass just doesn't sound like Type O...... and here is proof, this KILLER cover but without that bass sound, it doesn't sound like Type O.
