The members of Division are pleased to announce that Scott Stewart will be joining Division for the second time, replacing veteran vocalist Nick Kelly, who left Division in February 2012 after serving as the band’s
vocalist for 11 years. Long time fans will know Stewart from the band’s first and second CD’s “Paradise Lost” and “Ascension to Eternity”. “When we began auditions, it quickly became apparent that Scott was the right guy” says guitarist Mike Blevins, “His voice fits well with the new songs off of our latest release “Control Issues” and he handles the older songs like he never left” Stewart re- joins the band at a pivotal time, as Division, now with the original vocalist, is also searching for a bassist. New material from the band will be out this summer. “We will be recording while we are auditioning bassists” added guitarist Dave Evans. Brian Dobbs, from local progressive metal band Iris Divine, will be filling in until Division finds a permanent replacement for Tim Regan, who also left the band in February of 2012.
You can read my rantings about it and listen to Scott here.
Well, going back to one of your previous singers is oftentimes a good solution. The band members already know the guy, the fans already know the guy (hopefully), he knows a ton of the band's songs from the very beginning, and the band members also already have an idea of what he can do.
Sounds like a good solution to Nick leaving. Congrats!
