I was wondering about this. I bought the first album - instrumental only - and was hoping they'd have that option for this one. Guess I'll have to listen to samples when the album comes out and decide to buy or not.

They were a band who wrote songs with vocals on the first album, as well.
Yeah, and they caved to fan pressure.

I'm really excited for this to come out to see how people react to it, it doesn't really sound like anything else out there.
As far as the lack of an instrumental version goes, wait and see how the vocals sound on this record. Spencer's had 2+ years of constant practice and self-improvement, with completely new screaming styles and no pitch correction.. you'd be forgiven for thinking it's a new vocalist altogether.

Actually, the real reason is that we had been planning an instrumental version before Spencer was even considered for the band.

I thought it was really cool that BTBAM and DT did instrumental albums because musicians could pick apart what was going on on all the instruments. But we realized after the fact that it gave off the impression that we aren't confident in our vocalist, or that "fan pressure" could actually have any effect on the things we do, and that is most definitely not the case. We are figuring out a better way to help out the musicians who want to pick apart the instruments on the album, but an instrumental version will not be the answer to that.

Guitar Hero?

Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

"Tab books" that are actually 83 pages of pictures of the band members wearing oversized novelty sunglasses on their asses?
