    Highway Star cover...

Jon Lord and Deep Purple were massive musical influences on me. The first time I properly listened to this song, I was blown away by Jon Lord's organ solo, and I had to find away to do it myself - and bloody hell, that was hard work - it took me weeks. I got there eventually though - and now, a good few years later, I've tried my best to remember it, as a tribute to the absolute genius that was Jon Lord.

    So live for today,
    Tomorrow never comes.
    Die young, die young,
Can't you see the writing in the air?
    Die young, gonna die young,
    Someone stopped the fair.

That is one of the most ridiculously epic exhibitions of musical ability I've seen in quite some time. Lyle, I should have followed the rules, and now I'm taking up the accordian.

Can't see it here at work, but it's Lyle, so it has to be awesome.

When I heard of Jon's passing, it makes me want to do a video of my version of it as well. And yes, it IS REALLY hard, but oh so fun.
