    first of all, that was cool as shit. but not because they're 11. Nobody, not even the article, mentions that the kids are black. Probably because it's cool to think "oh, we didn't think it mattered.... are you racist or something?"

    who cares that they're 11? jesus, many many many kids starting playing their instruments by then, and form little projects. are they often this talented? no. Oh, but let's be sure to mention that 'hey, it's rumored that they're good students too.'

    are you kidding me? my point is, the bigger fucking coolness of this is that these are two black kids, going way against the grain. that's the bigger deal to me.... they are playing live. real instruments. going against stereotypes as far as musical taste goes, and playing what what the majority of kids in their demographic don't listen to - b/c it's about what they want to do, not what others want or expect to hear.

    we're so politically correct that people are scared to mention race, or think being the epitome of non-racist behavior is to act like somebody's race (or gender, sexuality, etc) is something that "I don't even notice".

    give me a break.
