Why did you start playing

Just wonder what player or band made you pick up the guitar and actually take it serious. Here's mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EiKtb0oYmY]Eddie Van Halen Solo 1976 - YouTube

My dad and uncle played in bands together for the first 10 years I was alive. I spent most of my childhood sitting in a practice space or in a living room while they practiced. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

My dad was/is a drummer, so I always figured I'd play drums, but when they both took me to see Floyd when I was 11, I immediately wanted to played guitar. Seeing 60,000 people go apeshit to Gilmour and hearing that guitar sound at stadium volume was life-changing. A few months later I had my first guitar.

Not the same show I was at, but the same tour. I still remember watching the lasers do their thing in this intro while smelling hash for the first time in my life...

They are pretty mesmerizing. The wall was pretty cool to watch in an altered state of mind back in the day. Have you ever done the dark side of OZ thing?
