4arm played here last night, along with a bunch of other bands, at small 3 stage festival (Metal Heart, a fundraiser for a heart operation ). Unfortunately they were headlining past midnight and I left at 9pm Regardless, I had the pleasure of our own Johnny's (Bloody_Inferno) company for a few hours, chatting about all sorts of stuff.
Highlights for the night included us standing 6 feet apart each wondering who the other guy was. I'd initially asked some other Asian dude in the vicinity if his name was Johnny. Turned out it was, but he had no idea who I was, and why I might know his name. Having eventually found the right Johnny I was then accosted by a drunk guy wanting to have his picture taken with my beard. I agreed, mainly to ensure a non-hostile outcome, and having violated my beard's soul this guy proceeded to harass Johnny about the taste of chicken feet, apparently because all Asians eat chicken feet Not a great deal of drinking followed for us, but there were conversations with several who had had consumed a great deal. In all honesty I barely saw any of the bands, and mostly talked shit with Johnny and a few old friends. Regrets including missing seeing a drunk vocalist fall into his drummer's kit and the inhalation of too much 2nd hand smoke.
I'm going to give the night itself an 7.5/10, Johnny's company a 9.5/10 (he didn't buy me a drink ), and for the 4arm performance I missed I'm taking a guess at an 8/10 due to poor sound both on and off stage.
Holy crap.. I just realised I commited the ultimate sin. I'm so sorry I didn't but you a drink. I have to make it up by either buying yiu a bittle of Jack or getting you blind when you come down here in Melbourne...
Other than that, it was awesome hanging around with you all day. Really enjoyed that, probably even more than our own performance that night.
Also I must mention that our Maxi Cab driver that night happened to be this guy:
He was blasting this and kept promoting his cd/dvd too. 45000 copies sold apparently!
Oh, and epic beard by the way.
