    Modern Metal

I am going to sound like an old man for this question. Also this is not a dis on anyone's musical style or taste. It's just what I like and don't like. To each is own.

I have tried to not get stuck in my generation. You know, the mullet generation. I grew up on 80's Metal. Like some Hair Bands but I guess for the time I liked the harder stuff, Testament, Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, Pantera, Savatage, Megadeth, COC, Suicidal Tendencies etc.

While these bands could at times scream and growl, they could also be melodic. That's what I miss in New Heavy metal

Went through the 90's liking Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, etc

Mid to Late 90's early 00's Like Slipknot, Biohazard, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Korn, Helmet, Prong

Come the 2000's Bands start sounding like Lamb of God. Now, bands like this, I absolutely love the music. But when the vocals start, I want to poke out my eyes

I do not like the constant screaming, growling vocals i.e. Lamb of God and such.

Are there any new bands I can check out in the vein of old school bands like those I mentioned.

Like I said, I'm not trying to Dis anyone's Band or taste. I know we all like different things. This is just my personnel preference for music that I listen to.

I do like SOAD, Hatebreed, The Sword stuff like that and Yeah I know Jamie Jasta is a Growler, but he sounds good doing it LOL

I grew up on 80's stuff too. And even though I love LoG and all those screaming vocals, I still love singing. Hell, I'M a singer!

I think you'll dig these guys. Shannon turned me on to them. Modern, and... well, check 'em out.
