    The CD Haul Thread

I'm sure we had one of these? I searched but couldn't find it...

Just been on a bit of a spree, not too much though:

    King Tubby - Crucial Dub
Augustus Pablo - The Melodica King
Toots and the Maytals - Reggae Greats
Aphex Twin - Hangable Auto Bulb
    Blondie - Greatest Hits
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Black Moon Rising: The Best Of...
Fleetwood Mac - The Very Best Of...

Very nearly bought Symphony X's new disc but I'm not spending 15 on any CD when I know I can get it cheaper

What albums have you been purchasing recently?

Wow, this thread went fucking nowhere in 2.5 years.

Good idea though, and instead of starting my own...

    Opeth - Heritage
    Anthrax - Worship Music
    Pharaoh - Bury the Light
Dream Theater - A Dramatic Turn of Events

I was searching for albums with laudable sonics. I remember liking the Anthrax mix despite being loud, Opeth is stunning as are most things Steven Wilson mixes, haven't listened to Pharaoh yet but Big and Crooks are monsters, and DT:ADTOE seems like a good mix too from the MP3 versions I've heard.
Making metal every night and day.

I've been in a buying mood lately too. There is an independent record store about 2 blocks from where I live, and they have a punch card. Buy 12 get 1 free So I've been doing a little bit of buying discs I've lost over the years, a little bit of picking new stuff up. Here's what I got over the weekend:

    TRAM: Lingua Franca
Between the Buried and Me The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues
    Radiohead: OK Computer
    Black Dahlia Murder: Nocturnal
Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine
    Protest the Hero: Scurrilous

I tend to get everything off the net since there's only one local music store, and it charges a good 40% more than the chainstore ones.

    In the last few months:

    The Gathering: if_then_else
Indica: Ikuinen Virta/Kadonnut Puuthara Box Set (Finnish Import)
Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, At War with the Mystics, Embryonic
The Mars Volta: Bedlam in Goliath
Xandria: Eversleeping CD Single/EP release (German Import)
Unsun: The End of Life (Polish Import, apparently it was never released anywhere else on CD)
Nightwish: Dark Passion Play Special Edition, Imaginaerum Tour Edition
    After Forever: After Forever

I've put a pre-order in for the special edition release of Delain's "We Are the Others", as well.

    Oh man let's see:

Altar of Plagues - Mammal - Totally amazing black metal and without the shitty production and with audible bass guitar.

Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction - Stunning debut from a doom band and for a doom band. Totally unique and crushing. Funeral doom sort of tone and Ozzy-like singing.

Grateful Dead - Aoxomoxoa - Psychedelic Rock classic.

Nightbringer - Hierophany of the Open Grave - Another amazing black metal release with great guitars and production. Very Deathspell Omega-esque, but unique.
