One of the first lessons I ever read was Guthrie back in 1994 transcribing Under A Glass Moon. I still have it along with the accompanied cd. He's just out of this world.
I forgot how much i loved erotic cakes back in early 2009 (possibly my formulative years into a more mature player). Wierd but the earliest influence Guthrie had on my playing wasn't the insane alternate picking or tapping, but his bends and vibrato. Totally tranformed me from the "zakk wylde-ish" bending and vibrato i had before.
I could sit and watch Guthrie videos all day. I probably shouldn't, though...
