New Cynic track: The Lion's Roar

]Cynic - The Lion's Roar (Lyrics Video) - YouTube

Definitely sounds a bit more like a mix between Muse and a bit of late 70's/early 80's prog rock, but I honestly don't mind that sort of direction at all and find it pretty refreshing. Can't wait to see what the other tracks are sounding like as I've been patiently waiting for these guys to release new material for ages. If you guys want to preorder their new disc you can do so here: Season of Mist, the metal shop

This should be labeled "New Aeon Spoke track".

Lyrics are terrible, music sounds uninspired... Not feeling it, doesn't sound like Cynic...

Easy insult to throw out there but, sadly, totally accurate.

    The transformation is complete.

    This just ...isn't Cynic

I like TiA and Focus, hell even Re-Traced but this has 0% of any of those besides trippy lyrics

Aw. Crooks' Aeon Spoke comment is spot on, here. I was torn on TiA when it first came out, but it grew on me over time; this, however, doesn't have any of the things that made the first TiA tracks interesting.

Well, we'll see how the rest of the album is, assuming this track doesn't completely turn people off.

My hope is Cynic isn't gone but this is getting really close.

Not even to mention what Tymon (Cynic's most recent guitarist) posted in response to a question on Ask.FM

"Do you like the new Cynic song?"

Well, it's not a secret why Robin and I left. The musical direction of the band was a major factor. So it's not really fair to ask me this question. Because I know I'll upset some people if I'll be honest. So let's not go there...
