Hey, guys I was listening to some Six Feet Under for a few weeks working through their catalog and stumbled upon a few of their covers like ACDC's Back in Black and TNT they were some cool covers but then I heard a song called Bastard and for a day or two I thought they had made it. But me loving old school hard rock and metal I just happened to look up Motley Crue at the US Festival and guess what song they played. Now I love the Crue, Live Wire being one of my favorite songs by the band and both versions of the song awesome but I think Six Feet Under version is slightly better. There's also the classic ones like NIN's Hurt being done better by Johnny Cash, theirs a big argument on this some like the original better others vice versa and some like both. But my favorite cover and one I feel blew the original out the water is Guns N' Roses covering Knocking on Heavens Door. There's also Judas Priest's cover of Fleetwood Mac's Green Manalishi, I think it's one of the greatest covers of all time and while I don't think it's better than the original but I enjoy the contrast between the two styles the songs is done in. What some covers you think are better than the originals? Here are the Originals and covers mentioned.
Hendrix' cover of All Along the Watchtower immediately comes to mind. I do think you've been smoking crack, though, if you think the SFU cover of Crüe is better than the original.
