Where do you stand on stage?

Just a random thought really. I've got a gig tomorrow night, just three songs to break the ice with my new band's debut, but I was just thinking how i'm going to be stage left.... ever since I started performing live, I have always stood stage left for no particular reason other than it feels right. I just kinda questioned myself trying to figure out if there is any reason at all other than habit for me doing so and i'm drawing a blank. So just out of sheer curiosity....where do you stand on stage and why?

*edit* No idea if this should be here or in off topic?

I'm on stage right now (I just realized this statement is confusing when written down instead of said out loud ), as my bassist (we're a 3-piece) moves around a lot and was worried about hitting me with his headstock I used to be stage left in my previous two bands, and I originally thought I would be in this band as well

I've usually stood stage left, and definitely prefer it. I pretty much always had a foot up on a monitor, so I found being on the left with my left foot up naturally kept me a little more towards the rest of the band/centre of the crowd, which just made me feel more involved/connected.

Right in the middle and all over....but I've always been the singer throughout the years.

Was stage left forever. But in my last band, I had to switch to stage right. The bass player and I were both so fucking crazy on stage we would kill each other if not.

you fucking people seriously think about this shit?

i stand where i set my rig up. which is usually the closest place the place i load gear up on to the stage. so if the other guy got there first, farther away.

you dinks need to stop over analyzing everything and just play.

Stage right w. Feared, stage left w. The Haunted. As long as I don't fuck up that often It doesn't matter which side.
