So, a friend of my cousin's that I'm somewhat acquainted with is one of those delirious kinds of "musicians."
You know who I'm talking about. The kind of "musician" who thinks they're just completely awesome, born with all this natural talent, don't need lessons, won't accept any criticism, claims the people who don't like his "music" just don't know what good music is...etc..etc..
Anyway, this guy recently spent thousands upon thousands of dollars putting an addition onto his house, building his recording studio.
He went out and bought TONS and TONS of thousands of dollars worth of top of the line instruments and recording gear. Mics, stands, guitars, acoustics, amps, mixers, boards, drums, effects processors, handheld recorders, studio monitors, new computer, powered stage speakers...and so on..
He has these delusions that he's going to be in a big band and absolutely crush the music scene. Everyone he meets, he tells them about how awesome he is at singing and playing guitar. His exact words are: "It's my bread and butter"
(Now...before you listen to this clip, let me give you a little insight into this guy's music taste. He's into 80's hair metal, Van Halen, classic rock like Bob Seger, older stuff like The Beatles (and the like) etc..etc..Oh and he RAVES about Zeppelin day in and day out.)
So, after months of him acquiring all of this gear and having everything set up...
THIS is his SOLE recording.
I'm embarrassed for him. I mean, ALL that gear, and THIS?!?!??
I thought this was a joke when I first heard it.
[sarcasm]You can really hear the influence of the aforementioned bands.[/sarcasm]
