    First Metal Steps

The idea for this thread came to me after Chris posted a thread for Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and he mentioned Can I Play with Madness, which was played a lot on Vh1 Classic's Metal Mania. I remember hearing Kid Rock's The History of Rock in either 2,000-2,001(not the best introduction to rock and metal but you have to start somewhere) and my dad played American Bad Ass at max and it had the heaviest riff I had ever heard at the time, (as I got more into metal I found it was the riff to Sad But True) it blew me away, I stuck mostly to classic rock, country, and blues up until about 2004. I was in the 2nd grade and I GTA San Andreas was coming out and I saw the commercial and this banshee wail followed by a faint echo started getting louder and louder and then DUN DUN dadadaddadada WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE came out of nowhere and I was hooked ever since. What were your first metal steps?

^ Their album covers are all pure win, except that 3-D one that came out in the early 2000's. (I think)

I used to play a video game on the SNES back in the day called Rock 'n Roll racing. It had a bunch of midi version of classic rock and early metal songs on it, and a few of them stuck out, namely Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. it took a few years but with the advent of Napster around 2000, I was able to get into Sabbath hard core. Another one that helped me was playing Doom & Doom II. There's a bunch of riffs in those games snagged from popular metal tracks. Slayer, Sabbath, Pantera, SOD, AiC, etc.

First few albums I actually ended up grabbing were Master of Reality, Paranoid and some Dream Theater, cause a guy I talked to on line wouldn't stop talking up scenes from a memory
I play bass in a band called Weaponlord.

I also play bass in a band called Northern Crown.

I used to play bass in a band called Faethom.
