I played in a band over 10 years ago with my good friend, Mad One, band split up, he joined another band, Edge Of Anger. 7 years later, I come back to the area and join EoA as the vocalist. They had 2 guitarist, shortly after I joined one of the guitarist, Wayne, got kicked out. 7 months after that, I was kicked out. (I posted a thread about it a while back....it's a great band drama read).
Wayne joined a new band, which I joined shortly after, which probably led to me being kicked from EoA. Mad One was still playing with EoA but expressed his frustration with the two drunks he was left with. He's a busy dude, but he fucking LOVES metal.
I knew if I got him to sit in the room while we practiced, he'd join. I was right. He came out last Saturday, heard one song and then in his quiet, pay-no-attention-to-me demeanor said, "If you guys want, I would really like to bring my gear in and learn these songs.".....pretty humble being that I was on his ass every day for 3 months to get to a practice.
I knew he'd be perfect for the band. He's a perfect metal bassist....great theory knowledge, owns a killer studio and his stage presence is pretty tough to beat. This is us in the band we were in 10 years ago.....(I'm singing/playing guitar in this....pretty rough on my part).....

(He got the name 'Mad One' the 2nd time I met him. He's a surgeon and VERY quiet. When he does speak, he means exactly what he says and stays true to his word 110%....he reminded me of a mad scientist. First time we ever played a show we all shit our pants at how much he was going nuts onstage. NEVER expected that from such a quiet dude.)
Good to hear man, it's always awesome getting to make music again with such an old friend
