I've wanted to tour ever since I met bands in my small (4,200 pop) home town when my friend put on shows during high school. It's been about 10 years of me telling my friends that I want to see North America from a van. I've been told that it is the best worst unpaid vacation you can take, and I believe it.
I have found the opportunity to be a part of a touring band in the form of Sparrows, from Ottawa. I was originally going to play bass, but after the possible guitarist option went sour and the point that I've been a guitarist a lot longer, Dan (vocalist/songwriter/rhythm guitarist) agreed to have me on board as lead guitarist.

With 3 albums out to date and another EP in the works, we will be touring around North America some time this summer. I am thankful that I have full support of my girlfriend and family on this endeavor - they know how important it is to me. I will be commuting every few weeks for band practice (13.5 hours round trip) once we have somewhere to practice.
The latest album "Cold Ground" is out on vinyl through No Sleep, which can be bought here:
I hope you guys will offer support when the fights happen or we don't get paid - all this tour stuff will be new to me. And I'm excited! Hopefully I can meet some (most?) of you while we're on the road
(I also have a band in London which I will post about after our recording at the end of the month )
