Oh great now instead of just worrying about my gear I have to worry about how it combines with the rest of the band and on top of that I have to consider if our gear suits the music we want to play.....

I have thought this for a very long time after reading some of what Dave had to say about how his tone for Division is pointed at what is good for the band not what is good to his ears. My tone is about how it fits in the mix with the people I play with. I play so often that I have gotten used to my tone so I like it sounding a little thin but i love when its sitting on a stage and couple well to let me feel the low end without getting it mixed into the mic sound

Oh and this really explained how important bass guitar is to the guitar tone.
