Currently throwing together a new project and I've got another guitarist and bassist on board as well as possibly a drummer. I can't stand 'core' bands. They were the bane of my existence as an engineer and I want to grind my ears off with a belt sander whenever I have to hear them.
So the add I have on Gumtree and Faster Louder starts 'love hardcore? do you drool for breakdowns? think parkway drive is the best band ever? then this isn't the project for you.
2 guitarists and a bassist looking for a vocalist and drummer to complete lineup for some metal.'
Then I get a text- I'm a hardcore vocalist.
Then came a few minutes of text message exchanges where he says I didn't make it very clear what I was after and various other things. Still don't know if he was trolling or the simple mention of Parkway Drive got his dick so hard the blood rushed from his brain and prevented him finishing reading the whole add.
It's bad enough that the only way to get a gig here is to wear black jeans 3 sizes too small, wear a baseball cap with a flat brim, a loose singlet top, snakebites and an inability to grow facial hair whilst chugging a low a on your LTD into a 6505.
Are scene kiddies and hardcore fanatics problems where you guys are or is it just a Sydney thing?
Since i dont listen to scene music, i dont know. I listen to some hardcore (ok, comeback kid on repeat) but thy come through once or twice a year.
