And I'm fucking terrified it's just a deck show but a lot of local bands will be there. Then I have a show Sunday and a couple more this month. My bedroom guitarist days are officially over. I have no idea what to expect or what to do, but I know I'll be okay. Doesn't help from being terrified, but that's what whiskey and beer is for.
Any tips on setup/not looking like a deer in the headlights while performing is much welcomed.
Just have fun man! Scariest part is all in your head leading up to it. Once you are playing it all fades away into euphoria, at least in my experience. Been playing guitar live for 8 years now, but just did my first gig as a frontman last month. i was pretty nervous but again, once I got into the first song it all melted away and was awesome. Don't build it up in your head, just do what you do. any mistakes will be noticed only by you, maybe your bandmates and 1 dude in the crowd, but most in the crowd won't notice/care. Don't just stand still, enjoy yourself. Once again: just have fun
