    Music suggestions please -

I know I'm behind the curve here, but I just discovered Soilwork. I like this band a lot.

Lately, I've become... well, indifferent to or bored with the music of many bands I used to worship. I find myself hearing a sound in my head and pulling my favorite tunes apart for the pieces to that sound.

I would like to find some work with the following ingredients:

    • Heavy riffs - but not one-note chugfests
    • Deep, melodic, vocals - maybe some screams but not all screams
    • Dark themes - not emo whining
    • Guitar solos that are something above mindless shredding
    • Powerful beat and solid bass

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks guys.
All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...

    Wirelessly posted

My absolute favorite album of last year was wilderuns sleep at the edge of the earth. That ticks all your boxes.

No dark themes, really. This is more sci fi cheerful stuff, but Scar Symmetry may be of some interest to you?
The above comment may or may not be about Morbid Angel.
