To follow on from an old thread i made.
Dont you hate it when you find a new band that you really like...
So, Dont you love it when that "new" band you found last year tours through the town you just moved to!
Went and saw Karnivool tonight... was pretty sweet. Mix of old and new material, would have loved more songs but they did do a decent amount, just want more classics.. thats all! That bass tone is incredible, i think its best live bass tone ive heard (though Simeon from Plini also sounds pretty wicked) plus a PRS and a 5150 just go together so well. Really glad i brought my earplugs. Those amps (5150 + JCM800) are loud! Im using Earpeace HD and im pretty happy. But wouldnt mind trying another brand just to see what there is. Any recommendations?
Nice small venue to! Love when you can clearly see chord/scale shapes being played.
The support band was a "Post Rock" band. Im not into this stuff. But i didnt mind these guys, their reverb/delay was amazing.
For those who like me somehow missed Karnivool:
Also: can we all agree on how awesome Black Sabbath's Spiral Architect is. Havnt heard it in ages and it was playing over the pa
Also, its great having not to put up with Sydney's lockout laws. And gigs start later here. The last few shows i went to in Sydney had to end by 10pm because of some weird noise level/time issue. Its really sad what that government has done to the city.
