Im kinda suprised i didnt see anything about this here. I'm not exactly a huge fan, but i've seen them a dozen or so times in bars back in the college days and around then, and was one of the 1-in-3 that tuned in to watch the last show. actually kinda amazing really.
Yeah for people outside of Canada I wonder how much they know about the band.
To put it in perspective imagine if nbc stopped showing the olympics to broadcast a three hour concert in prime time commercial free. Then it happens to be a band with enough radio hits or singles to fill that time slot and is a staple on rock radio stations for the last twenty years. Then imagine Obama shows up to the concert and the lead singer happens to have terminal brain cancer. And it is in the bands home town as the finish a nation wide tour.
Pretty much the conversation on that Saturday was where were you going to watch the concert. Many places had outdoor screenings.
I am not a fan but the magnitude and gravity of the event was huge.
