    Sarah Shook & The Disarmers

Feels wrong to lump this in with the rest of the country genre, but it is and we need more country like this, the "kill my husband and drink some whiskey afterwards" type

Once the gimmicky shine of a chick with a tattoo singing half assed outlaw country wears off she will go away. She can't sing and if you can't sing in this genre you have to be a master storyteller and to me she is neither.
The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No.” ― Alan Moore

It's not like they're blowing up or trying to redefine the genre?

edit: although you're in Nashville, so maybe you're seeing/hearing a lot more of here than us up in the NE region

Sorry dude, but fuck pop country and the Nashville hit machine I'll agree that these songs aren't blowing my mind, but she can sing, and it's awesome to hear dirty and dark country.

    Well this sucked.

For the record, I don't like country, pop or otherwise. Unless it's Johnny Cash, maybe.
