Once upon a time, In Flames used to be awesome.

I often forget this, but every now and then I get reminded that they once knew the fine arts of delivering the metulz.

Sense of this thread? None, I am bored at work ("window-day"(yesterday was national holiday) = I am alone here), have just read a live review from yesterdays In Flames show, got disgusted and am listening to old In Flames for the first time since ages.

My favorite song of off my favorite In Flames album.

And I absolutely love that solo played by not the In Flames guitarists.

The thread title is appropriate because it's been so long since In Flames was good that it may as well be a fairy tale.

I think I posted a similar thread a year or two ago about the same album after I found my Itunes copy of the Jester Race. Funny how a band can go from awesome to mediocre over a few albums.

The growls sounded so much better than the screeching Anders does these days.

I liked everything up to and including Reroute to Remain. Then they just went off the rails with the damn synths over everything. I keep giving their new stuff a chance hoping it's cool like old Clayman-era stuff and getting disappointed.

I got into them with Reroute to Remain, and I'll admit its definitely a different sound from their early material; but I still enjoy it, and even Come Clarity is a solid album in my book. After that its anyone's guess as to whether or not it'll be worth it. I like Sounds of a Playground Fading has been the only other album since CC that I can enjoy. So that's what, 1 album in ...11 years?
