Q: How are you different from Joe Satriani and Steve Vai?
A: I don’t play Ibanez and I don’t use a whammy bar. Our music is darker and heavier than Vai or Satriani.
I don't like them already.
Also, does Gibson now own Peavey?
Edit - Listened to "Whatever" and am now halfway through "Loose." How are these guys getting written up by Gibson? It's not that this is bad, exactly, it's just that I've heard better from a whole bunch of guys on this board, and I normally wouldn't say stuff like this, but myself included. Evidently "guitarcore" is what you get if you take the heavier side of "shred" and then take out all the woodshedding. :/ If this guys is one of the better "feel" players the review has heard in a long time, then he hasn't been looking.
The songs just don't have hooks that are that memorable, and the soloing is neither memorably hum-able nor unusually technical. It's sort of bland.
