Should I be dropping acid while looking at these pics?

I actually wish more live setups these days were built like the old Dead setups.

Most of today's setups are all long-throw speakers that pump out a lot of high-volume midrange. Having that huge bank of tweeters and horns in the Dead's old setup made it sound more like a hi-fi stereo rather than a midrangey mess.

A completely subjective discussion of semantics? Awesome!

Because more skull-peircing high end is exactly what I've wanted whenever I've gone to a show!

I'll confess - I've never really cared for the Dead.

I don't really like them either... I get too much exposure over here.

What those tweeters and horns do is give you better control over the sound characteristics after the desk. So, with a good engineer, you will get a better 'quality' live sound.

I mean, skull-piercing high end can show up in any rig that doesn't consist entirely of subwoofers anyways.

There's some pretty tastey Dead material out there.

That is more weight than Manowar carries to their concerts... they only have around 50 tons, the slackers.
