I'm thinking about upgrading my rack case to something, and as girly as it sounds, I was wondering if there's any that are easier to carry? Anything to do with handle placement, etc. I have a 6 space, and I have an opportunity to score a VHT 2/90/2 power amp that's within Canada, so no duty, for a good price. Right now I have the TS100, and while it doesn't sound bad, I like the sound of my Axe going direct into my PC and through my monitors, which made me think getting a solid state power amp like the Carvin ones might be a good choice. The ONLY thing holding me back from getting the 2/90/2 would be the extra hassle of moving it, since the TS100 is only 25 lbs and I'm already a wimp and it's uncomfortable to move. I would prefer to keep shit all in one rack for ease of setup, but I suppose splitting it up would be another option. A lot of my issues spring from the drama of my wrist which I'm sure you've all heard me whining about before
Anyways, long story short, are there any rack cases that would be a lot easier to move for a smaller guy?
The gator cases with the extended handle and two wheels are easy to carry and extremely light, lighter than skb cases. The handle breaks a little too easily though as its held together with plastic parts instead of metal.
Those are about the lightest ones you'll find.
Maybe get a bigger rack with wheels? They're heavy, starting at 40+ pounds, but you wouldn't have to lift much except into a truck or trailer for transport. My new odyssey rack is very mobile and tough as nails.
