Ok so i have been slooooooowwwwwly saving for a Mesa RoadKing II because i really like this amp for all the features including the power amp switching and cab switching. I am planing to run it into a 2x12 open back for clean/mild dirty and into a closed back 4x12 for crunch/heavier tones. But i recently have fallen in love with the Mark series amps as well.
So my idea is to get a RK, a Triaxis, and a Gmajor 2 and run it with some audio loop switcher and an amp gizmo and control it all with a Ground control or something.
Would this sound ok to run the triaxis into the RK's poweramp? and if i wanted to change the power amp tubes via midi i could just change the channel on the RK to switch from 6L6's to the EL84's? (I am planning to make good use of the Brit + EL84 combo)
has anyone tried this or similar? any other thoughts or suggestions?
And yes i know this will cost A LOT!
Yeah you can plug the triaxis into the power amp return on the road king... but this is madness! I would honestly say pick one or the other
What do you like in the road king that the triaxis is missing? What do you like in the triaxis that the road king is missing?
Are you going to run an amp switcher with it to change back and forth from the road king's pre to the triaxis?
