I have a rather old G Major (bought it used off Malicious Steve a couple of years back) and it had developed an encoder that started acting up, so I dropped it off to be fixed. In November. Anyway, after lots of chasing I find out it needs a new encoder (no surprise) and they have to wait for one to be ordered from Germany. The repair would be £60 for the part, plus fitting & a general service cost. That was February, so I thought it was about time to chase it again at the start of this week and not only is it fixed, but they've been sitting on it for the last couple of months since it was fixed
Anyway, as it's taken them 7 months and I've moved 190miles from where I was living, they cut me a deal on it and offer to post it to me for £60 all in So, I now have my G Major back and fully working again. All I've got to do now is decide do I keep it in case I get an amp head, or do I sell it and just get a poweramp to go with my Pod XT Pro.
Where'd you get it repaired, James? I have one that has a dodgy Enter button that needs fixing. TC's authorised centre said it'd cost me £90 just for them to look at it.
I'd suggest keeping it and using it with the XT Pro. I did that for a short while, and it has much nicer choruses and delays than the XT.
