Default Just fucking shoot me already!! - Need Help

Ok - so I got a Digitech GSP1101 and I totally love it. Cue 3 days later my Behringer FCB1010 + 25' Midi cable arrives. I plug it in and read and then re-read the manual after which I take a Tylenol.

Holy smokes - programming midi is a bitch. Does anyone know a quick tutorial on how Midi works? I think this freaking thing assumes like I know Midi.

Any help?

Yup, it sucks. I have an MPD24 midi controller that I use with FL/Sonar, and it's pretty basic. Channels in = channel out, match up the buses, etc. I've never configured one with a rack unit though, as the 2101 is paired with the Control One.

Fuck I wish I had the bread for the Control Two but its like $300 new and thats just too much for a foot controller!!! I hate being thrifty - however I'm hoping I can crack this bitch.

If you are just trying to switch channels, then it should just work. If you're trying to turn certain effects on and off, then good luck, there is a reason people pay $300+ for a floorboard. Most controllers only send program changes, not command changes. I was never able to get the Behringer's command mode to work properly.

Well after a quick reset and what not I got the FCB1010 to switch Patches on banks of 10. Got the volume pedal working now just working on whammy/wah.

Yeah i might sell this FCB1010 with my behringer GMX212 and buy a Digitech FC2.

After some bitch slapping I finally got the board to work.

Right now its setup with banks+patches. I can't control the fx on each but its cool cuz the switching between patches is nearly instant and there is no pause in between.

I've also configured the wah/whammy/volume fx and found their midi shit out so i can replicate it. Thanks all.

Get rid of the Behringer & get the right tool for the job, The Control 2 pedal. Seriously, while your wallet will cry, your sanity will thank me.

If I had had to do any programming on the FCB1010 to get it to do what I wanted with the Axe, I would've sent it back. It has the most terrifyingly awful manual I've ever read.

I've found every single way of making the FCB1010 work, including control changes, program changes, volume pedals, having effects come on at certain values and the ability to change that value with another pedal and have nothing else change etc, so if you ever need any help, let me know.
