    Vox Tonelab

I want to get my dad one of these for Xmas. I'm looking heavily at the Tonelab ST, because it's not as complex as the LE, and it's not as expensive . My dad really likes the tone I get from my Vox AD15VT combo, probably because it's really voiced with vintage models. He'll either be plugging into his '69 Fender Super Reverb 4x10, or straight into his mixer.

Anyone have any experience with these?

The other guitarist in my last band had a Tonelab LE for a while. I didn't like it very much. I'll assume that its inability to handle high gain won't be an issue, but while I don't remember the specifics, I remember not liking the effects and thinking that they were very inflexible. It does a half decent job at getting vintage type amp tones, though.

I never had a whole lot of time to mess around with it but I really liked the sounds I got out of it when I tried it out at my guitar store
