With Christmas coming up and my recording only happening during my lessons, I wanna be able to do home recording like when I picked up my Tascam. I know some of you guys have used the Johnson J-Station or perhaps praises of it, and others use the Pod and enjoy it. I know "best" isn't the right term in this sense of things but I'm just trying to get a gauge for what you guys feel would be better for someone who wants to just kind of "plug and play".
I've used Pod's in my previous recording sessions and they sound fine, and dozens of other people swear by them and use them. They're also about a dime a dozen depending upon which model you're looking at (I've used a 2.0, and tried out the XT but found it to be a bit distasteful - kind of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" idea).
Not much is available in terms of info on the J-Station but from the sound clips and videos I've heard of it - it's pretty sweet and seems like it was just over-shadowed by the Pod. I think it Shannon (or I could be talking out my ass) who said Ron Jarzombek used it for some of his stuff - and I'm a big fan of Watchtower and Spastic Ink. They also resell pretty cheap which is I'm not sure if they should be taken as it's being lesser quality.
What do you guys think? J-Station or POD?
do you want something that will let you do something other than guitar, like a firepod or just a guitar modeller or something?
presonus stuff is cheaper than most and sounds decent, or the axefx
