That is not completely fair, since I can get a usable tone out of a 3ch Dual.

FWIW for people who haven't played a Triple: the bass on the thing NEVER goes away. Set it really low, and it is simply a massive gut punch, as opposed the completely unusable wall of twisting speakers the higher settings yield.

I actually run ch3 vintage mode 100W for my leads, oddly enough. I run all channels in 100W right now.

Drew, do you have a les paul handy? Ch2 set to clean with the gain up and boosted with a good OD is just awesome. I used to use brit, then I switched back to clean for a fatter sound - the 2nd mode was too round for me.

I may try Brit instead, but no more band practices until 2010. The mesa is right behind me, my 412 comes home from the jamspace tomorrow.

I too want to try EL34's in my roadster. I do love this thing

A shoutout to Scotty J for the JSX!

Well thanks. I appreciate that. I figured there weren't any good vids on YouTube that really showed the differences in the amp, and I wasn't about to wank some nonsense bullshit that didn't give a representation of what the amp had to offer.

Nah, I'm not shocked that you didn't like it. You and Mike are more Recto-kinda guys... I'm more a Mark kinda guy. But that's why there's more than one option out there. And you're right... I absolutely love the thing. If there was MIDI involved... it'd be bye-bye TriAxis/2:90!!

Being that I'm more of a Mark kinda guy, it's probably pretty well suited for me.

The problem is that it just doesn't stack up to other Marks IMHO. If I wanted a Mark, I'd be looking for III blue or no stripes, since they sound a lot better and the cost is very reasonable.

No, I like Marks, too - I even like .50 Caliber plus I use at rehearsal. I haven't had any quality time with a V, but several Mark fanatics I know haven't been thrilled.

Yeah, that may still be the best amp Mesa's ever made. Too bad the IIC isn't really cost-effectively usable for me in live performance. Plus, if I was buying an amp I wasn't going to take out of the house, it would be Recto #5.
