Does anyone else do this? I mean placing a delay pedal before the phaser/flanger/chorus effects on your pedalboard rather than with the reverb and main delay effects. The reasoning is that I mainly use my delay pedal for Cathedral-style dotted-eighth and harmony delays with a single repeat and for echoplex-style effects where I freeze a note and twist the time feedback and time knobs for pitchshifting effects, and having the modulation effects after means you hear the sweep of the phaser and flanger without the notes being generated by the delay breaking it up. It's a really cool effect, especially with the flanger.
Of course it still makes more sense for ambient delay to go last, just before the reverb...
Anyone else do this, or am I just wierd?
Nope, if I had separate delay pedals, this is how I would do it.
