So I love my amp. I really do. However, as I get most of my sounds on one channel using the volume control, I've found that I can't always get a good volume/cut hike from my dirty rhythm playing to my lead sound.
Would running a footswitchable clean boost (something that just boosted the signal like 3dB or something) in the effects loop give the sort of effect I'm looking for? The sort of "same sound, just a little louder"?
Or should I use an EQ in the loop and boost the mids (I'm a bit reluctant to do that, Buddas are ridiculously middy already)? Or, stick the clean boost out front before or after the tubescreamer to hit the preamp section harder?
a clean boost is not going to make you louder on the distorted channel. you may be able to put a clean boost in the loop to get the desired effect though. if you already have an eq, leave it flat but bump up the level on it and try it in the loop.
