Well I never thought I would part with the Ultra-Lead but I really wanted to give this a shot before settling on something forever. I am sure that Adrienne would be impressed if I kept both with a wedding coming next year and being in the middle of home renovations so the UL is gone.
No epic pic story although there really should have been with an exchange of goods between JJ and I. We also exchanged money and gear.
Link sees what I did there ^
So Far I am impressed. I realize I have hardly even scratched the surface of this and I am playing in a very small room (The dining room) because my man cave is under renovations so I am going to reserve my final judgment until I am set back up in my music room.
My high gain tones need some work but I am getting some amazingly Juicy tones from the Plexi model with my strat for bluesier stuff and have finally realized it is not all hype. It really does feel like a tube amp for the most part. I have never actually played a plexi but this feels amazing.
I am not going to go into details about the quality of the effects because you all know by now that they are nothing short of amazing and the possibilities are endless.
If I decide I want to go back to a head it will be another Fryette for sure. I keep eyeballing the Memphis but if anything instead of taking the risk it will probably be the UL again. I am going to give this a fair chance and keep an open mind. I was very skeptical but it is looking like it may be a keeper..
I really can't wait to have my music room back. The dining area is not ideal.
So you and JJ traded straight up? I thought JJ was happy with having something that weighed next to nothing...
So does JJ prefer the UL to the Axe FX I take it?
