As most know, I'm dying for an Axe-FX. Unfortunately, with lots of medical bills coming in recently, a declined economy (which mean less gigs) & a bunch of other shit, I just don't have $3K for the processor, plus a tube poweramp, footboard, etc.
So, I'm really interested in the Marshall JMD1 series & they offer the JMD50 & JMD100 heads. These are also way more in my budget.

My question is for live applications....
Is 100w overkill for most club shows, or would 50w be perfect? There's only $100 difference, so should I spring for the 100w? If so, why? Since I've been running primarily an SS rack rig for the last decade, I'd like to hear from the tube guys.
While not much to offer to the question at hand, I can say that having let it rip on Drew's Roadster today, I think that's right up your alley, especially with the 1101 in loop for effects. You have the 1101, and a Roadster is ~$1500, which is half of what you were about to drop on the AFX.
