I never for years understood people's love of these lil fuckers. But awhile back, I had some sitting around, and thought, what the hell? I've actually tried them on numerous occasions, but never warmed to them. But for some reason, they clicked with me now.
The one I have are Ultex, which is just great. Lasts forever. And I found myself liking thicker picks more and more. I played a few months back on some guys gear, and he had the thinnest, wimpiest picks ever. I hated it! But once upon a time, I would have loved 'em.
Since my hands sweat, Ultex has got decent grip. But these Jazz IIIs, with the lettering on both sides, just makes 'em super. I never lose 'em. And the feel is nice. It is an adjustment, since the pick is so much sharper and tapering than a traditional pick, but now, I am sold.
Go figure. You can not like something for years, and then one day, almost out of the blue, wham-o! It all changes.
I just did the same thing. Never got into them but the other day I bought a pack of the Eric Johnson Jazz IIIs for the hell of it and I love them!
