...is they make you REALLY appreciate how atmosphere-sensitive guitars are.
I've spent a couple nights this week tracking, and without fail I always start off by checking my tune against my (heh) Peterson, and then generally re-check every couple takes as well. Also without fail, first thing in the evening when I first pick up the guitar, it'll have gone slightly but measurably sharp or flat. And, so far this has been fixed bridge guitars with finished necks - my Sherman 5-string and my PRS SE mostly.
It's kind of annoying. Just changes in temperature and humidity are enough to make a guitar shift maybe an 8th to a 10th or a step.
I noticed that with one of my guitars the other night, which coincidentally is a fixed bridge painted neck.
