They get dirty quick, but it survived about two months of hard pick playing during rehearsals before it really started flaking. If you play fingerstyle they'd probably last a lot longer.

Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion

Put a yellow set on my black P Bass. They look and feel quite sexy. And, so far i'm pretty impressed with the tone. I play heavy rock with a pick. These strings eliminate that pick scrape, but still punch like a prison yard fighter. The transition from attack to sustain is really smooth, making for very articulate fast runs up the fret board. I really like the idea of not having to EQ out that initial tinnyness that new strings often posess. Durability after a couple weeks is pretty good too. I'll probably buy another set for my Thunderbird soon. probably the red ones

I got some of the DR Extra Life coated strings (the blue ones) and the coating started to come off where I pick almost instantly. They sound okay though.

Yeah, they're great for hard picking styles on bass. Less "clang" but still plenty of punch.

They pop more IRL than in the pics.
