    NPD MXR Fullbore Metal

I've got a fender blue jr 15W all tube amp that rules for clean tones but the signal doesn't break up for crap - so I've been checking out stomp boxes to fill the insane distortion but still tube tone gap.

Had an MXR Fullbore Metal come up on CL yesterday for $60 so I went an picked it up.

Jeez - talk about a metal machine...this pedal sounds fantastic. Has noise gate, scoop, frequency adjustment, high mid and low adjustments, volume and gain. The blues jr can't handle some of the fat lows the pedal is capable of putting - more headroom is needed since the jr. only has 1 12" speaker. An extension cab will be needed to get the most out of the pedal but hey, that sounds like a reason to buy more gear

Checkout youtube for some videos - beware some of the videos sound pretty crappy. This pedal can sound thin/raspy if it's not dialed in correctly. But it's very easy to find a great tone with lots of raw metal power. Highly recommended.
