what have we here?
could it be?
A Mesa Boogie Mark V
I've really only just touched the surface of what this beast can do having had it for a few days now. I have to admit i was a bit worried to begin with as i have just had bareknuckle blackdogs put in my RG1527 and i thought their medium output had pussified this amp a bit. However... i have now had a chance to crank the volume a bit and stick my MXR GT OD in front and near crushed my ribcage this afternoon
channel one is the 'clean' channel although set it to tweed and youl get some really nice overdrive or 'spankyness'. I prefer the cleans to be be very clean and not break up and using the clean or fat mode im able to achieve this nicley and get a really rounded full clean sound. I engaged the bold switch as i thought it pushed the sound out a bit more.
the second channel i havent really done a huge amount with but one thing i would note is that the lows on the Mark I setting are INSANE i had the bass set to about 9 oclock and it was still huge. i imagine this channel would be nice for leads once i get it dialed in right.
Channel 3 has the option of the mark II C+ mark IV or Extreme.
I prefer the mark IV and mark II C+ modes but im not ruling extreme out yet as i've not had a chance to play with it much yet.
great sustain and depth in the distortion which really growls which is what i was after when i bought this amp.
